who we are

The organization formally incorporated as an Incorporated Trustee with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) in 2008, adopting the legal name Dispute Resolution and Development Initiative (DRDI) to reflect its broader development mandate, while retaining DAG as part of its institutional identity and legacy. Beginning its work in Kano State, DRDI-DAG expanded its operations beyond the state in 2009 and has since grown into a nationally recognized civil society organization. Through strategic partnerships with government institutions, development partners, civil society organizations, academia, and community structures, the organization has designed and implemented programmes that empower citizens, strengthen institutions, and promote peaceful, inclusive, and accountable societies.

Today, DRDI-DAG is recognized as a trusted development partner with more than 25 years of experience working at the intersection of peacebuilding, democratic governance, human rights, fiscal justice, and sustainable development. The organization’s growth has been driven by strong community engagement, strategic partnerships, and a commitment to locally led and evidence-informed development. As it looks to the future, DRDI-DAG remains committed to empowering citizens, strengthening institutions, and contributing to a peaceful, inclusive, and democratic society where human rights are respected and sustainable development can flourish with high caliber traditional and religious leaders, there will be no experience of difficulty in mobilizing them to take the lead on any conflict mitigation and peace advocacy projects.
